Currency Trader Help
Hello Terry,
I am doing a self study on how to trade currency and I have been doing this for about 2 1/2 years now.. Not a lot of women do trade so I was really happy to hear that you were the first woman who do trade in Chicago. I would like to learn from you and any books to read, tips, etc. you can give me it will be much appreciated. I think it is about time that WE women learn how to trade either in futures, stocks, bonds, commodities, currencies, etc..
Hope I can learn from you too.. Thank you for your time 🙂
Sheryl
Terry Says: Well, thanks for the compliment. Yes, I was a founding member of the Chicago Board Options Exchange and an early member if the Chicago Mercantile Exchange’s International Monetary Market. (Full disclosure: I am now on the board of directors of CME Group.) I can tell you from personal experience that trading is as much an art as a science. And you find out very quickly if you are any good at this art! (I, for example, found that I am much better as a long-term investor, since I am basically a very risk-averse person!) But there are many, many successful women traders. The legendary Mickey Norton at the CME is certainly one of the outstanding ones, and I admire her greatly.
If you want to learn more about trading futures, go to www.CMEGroup.com, and click on the “education” tab at the top. There you will find a drop down menu that lists a wealth of information about getting started, and moving on to sophisticated classes in trading. These are the best resources in the industry and should get you off to a good start!
