Terry Says
The amount of your contribution TO the 501(c)3 organization is tax deductible –IF you itemize on your tax return. The charity should give you a receipt for your gift of cash and in-kind donations.
Just FYI: For 2022, the standard deduction is $12,950 for single filers or $25,900 for married couples filing together. And if you take the standard deduction in 2022, you can’t claim an itemized write-off for charitable gifts.
Form 8283: Noncash Charitable Contributions is a tax form distributed by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and used by filers who wish to deduct non-cash contributions made to a qualifying charitable organization.
