Early retirement
Good morning Terry, first of all I’d like to thank you for the wonderful advice that you give to millions of people you are truly an asset to anyone who listens. My question is if I were to take retirement at 63 as opposed to 67 Would it really make that much of a difference? I understand it would probably be about 25% less, however let’s say I live till 80 years old. I understand I will still have to work some until 67 years old. Does it make sense that I’m looking at it from a point of view of working for 17 years verse 13 years the difference when you break it down is only about 5000 a year for the 4 years. And to be honest with you, I’ll probably work past that God willing. Thanks for your advice. I appreciate everything you do..

Are you talking about retiring from your job? Or about taking Social Security early?
If it’s just about quitting work, go right ahead. But plan to live on your savings or take a part-time job until you reach age 67 to take SS.
