Economic Stimulus check taken by Care Provider
Does my DD adult son on SSDI have to file 2018, 19, & 20 taxes to receive any stimulus checks? The CILA home receives his SSDI for his care, but wont tell me if they received any stimulus money on his behalf. If Seniors have a right to there stimulus rather than nursing home i would assume the same in this circumstance. Thank you for your valuable time.

Please do tell your CILA home administrator that you checked with me at Chicago Tribune and WGN-TV and that we would be VERY interested in doing a story about any withholding of stimulus funds. That’s a Federal crime, as I’m sure they know. Those funds cannot be taken for tax arrearages, of Medicaid reimbursements. Please do let me know what happens. Certainly, an IRS or FBI investigation would be in order if they are taking these checks from residents.
