Federal Check — impact of retirement income

By Terry Savage on April 01, 2020 | Wild Card

I retired in 2019 and only worked for 6 months of 2019. I have SSA and pulled my 457 down which took me over 100K when I filed my 2019 taxes. Will this count against me for getting the Federal assistance check? Thank you.

Terry Says

Yes, retirement account withdrawals count as ordinary income, and this will put you over the limit — unless you filed jointly.
