fidelity wealth management

I struggled to find a financial advisor*and after interviewing several elected to move investments into Fidelity wealth management a year ago ; with a defensive position. I Lost alot of money in 2022 and paid Fidelity>$1% of the portfolio for their efforts. I know the market was volatile/remains volatile but I thought they would “manage” money so the losses would be mitigated. Fidelity has recently recommended a 3rd party to assist me but I m “chicken”. If Fidelity was not able to help me how do I find a certified financial provider who can?
