Funds from sale of home
My husband passed and I have sold my home. Where to put these funds which might be about
Three hundred thousand. Moving in with my daughter for winter at least.
He was my finance guy.
Thank you.

How lucky you are to have the option of moving in with your daughter, even for a while. Just put all the money in a money market deposit account at a bank. You’re slightly over the insured limit, but I’m not worried about that with major banks these days. You won’t earn anythng. But the money will be safe. Then please write back to me in six months, and tell me where you stand with your living situation and whether you might want to move into an apartment, a senior living community (NOT a nursing home!) or maybe South for the winter.
You’ll have a much better idea of your future life six months from now. I’ll be waiting to hear from you and I hope you follow my advice to DO NOTHING but put the money in the bank. And don’t give ANY of it away, though you will be tempted to help out!! This is my challenge to you — to have it ALL intact in six months. Again, let me know mid-summer!
