funeral insurance
Hi Terry, My wife and I are in our sixties . We are thinking about investing in an insurance policy with National Guardian Life which would take care of our final wishes. Everything would be handled through the funeral home so our family would not have to make any decisions or pay anything. Do you think this would be a wise investment?
Terry Says
It’s not an investment; it’s an expenditure. Do you think you won’t be able to leave enough money to pay for your funeral? Do you trust your kids to plan a funeral you would like to have?
I’ve never been in favor of prepaid funerals. The insurance companies just make money on the money during the holding period until you die. And, unless I’m wrong about this, you’ll never know exactly what kind of funeral they gave you!
