Gold
Terry, I see these commercials on TV about buying gold to protect against the economy. What are your thoughts?
Also I purchased I-bonds like you advised and I will hold onto them for five years and then what, do I cash them out or is that a long plan into retirement? Thank you!
Terry Says
Hang on to your I-bonds. They pay a low rate of interest now, reflecting lower inflation — but you should keep them for 5 years.
Gold has been trading near an all-time high — despite low inflation — perhaps on fears of U.S. Global leadership prospects. But gold is a speculative investment for only a small part of your portfolio.
Seems you could benefit from a review of your entire financial situation from someone who is not trying to sell you anything. YOu need a FEE-ONLY, FIDUCIARY financial advisor.
