do you have suggestions of types of gold funds to consider investing in? i’m 68 and like to invest on the conservative side.

Whew — I guess gold is making headlines as it crosses $1800 an ounce. I think you should diversify in a gold stock mutual fund. One I have owned for years is the US Global Investors Gold and Precious Metals fund (USERX) available at www.usfunds.com. But Fidelity, Vanguard, and American Century funds all have gold funds.
