HH Bond Redemption Delays

This is not so much a question as an update to a prior question regarding delays in cashing matured HH Savings Bonds. I had written previously about a matured HH Bond that I sent into Treasury for redemption on July 6, and was delivered to their Minneapolis PO Box on July 11. Several weeks passed without any news on this. I finally received the direct deposit to my checking account on October 8. I have not received any documentation from Treasury regarding taxes or such, but expect that after the first of the year. So in my case, the time frame from mailing a bond to receiving the cash turned out to be 2 months, which is longer than I expected. My experience may be helpful to your readers. Thanks.
