Housing / Real Estate

By Terry Savage on April 01, 2025 | Housing / Real Estate

Dear Terry,
My wife and I are selling our building in Bronzeville to relocate to the burbs, we built up enough equity to pay off the mortgage on our current building
And put down the down payment on the new place; we’ve been preapproved by our current lender to proceed pending sale of the current property. What’s the best way to transition without feeling all of this stress before we get started.
I thank you so much in advance.

Terry Says

The first step is to actually SELL — and close — on the current building. Hurry, because it looks like an economic slowdown is coming. Don’t get caught with two properties! Wait until the first sells, even at the risk of losing the new place.
