How do you buy raw gold bars without paying commissions or premiums?

There are plenty of gold dealers (find one at Money.org, the website of the American Numismatic Association) who will sell you gold bars at the prevailing price on the day you pay for them. But don’t forget, you’ll have to pay shipping charges, and a fee for a safe deposit box to store the bars.
Do NOT let them store your gold bars. That’s frequently the prelude to a scam!
Two other things:
These will not be “raw” gold bars! They will be imprinted with the weight and purity of the gold.
And, you will not get any interest on teh money you tie up in gold bars or coins.
