How To Know Sister’s Financial Situation
Hi Terry, I’m a big fan of your podcasts etc. You have helped me with questions about home health care and right now my husband is doing ok with caregivers and me.
Here’s a question. I have a younger sister who is 70, in good health, but lives alone in Southern California. My sibs are even older than I. My sister has no spouse or children and I’m worried about what might happen. I don’t know if she has life insurance or end of life plans or much else. What do I need to ask her? I don’t want to offend or pry. Maybe you can suggest a good web site for me.
Terry Says
I have a better idea. Go to my website: www.terrysavage.com and click on the link for the Personal Financial Organizer form. It’s in one of the four boxes in the top right corner. Print it out blank, and mail it to her! Ask her to fill it out — and maybe make a copy and send it to you when she gets it all filled in.
That will trigger her to think about getting organized in case of an emergency. (And you and your husband should go through the same process! You can print out as many copies as you need!)
