Husband’s Social Security
Hi, I am 70 year old retired wife collecting my own Social Security for the past 7 years. My husband also retired and gets his social security. If he dies first, am I able to turn my social security security back to them and take my husband’s full social security security since his is so much more than mine? Thank you so much!! We watch you all the time.

If you become a widow (or he becomes a widower) you’ll contact Social Security and they will pay you the LARGER of your two benefits. You don’t have to give anything back. If his benefit is larger, they will just start sending you the larger of the two deposits.
