I Bond – Why 1-5 Years Term?
We love hearing from you, Terry. Please clarify: we opened a 6 month I Bond. Are we penalized if we cancel/redeem the Bond at 6 months?? We don’t understand the 1 year to 5 year requirement. Thank you very much for your assistance.

You didn’t buy a 6-month I bond! YOu must have purchased a 26 week Treasury bill!
