I-Bonds

By Terry Savage on May 08, 2022 | Chicken Money

I’m 75, and have $300K+ in the stock market (yikes) Should I purchase I-Bonds? How much and for how long? My wife gets a $70K annual pension and I get SS of $21600 annually. Hse is paid for. No credit card debt or children. What do you think?

Terry Says

You can only buy $10,000 (each) of series I bonds, and they are a great investment. You must plan to hold them for at least 5 years. And I hope you have some additional savings, and not all of your money tied up in the stock market!
