I BONDS

Hi Terry. Are I Bonds as good as they sound. At 7.12% annually (until April) are they as good as they sound ? I am familiar with the penalties involved for early withdrawal etc. The $$ is currently in a MM that earns no real interest & is used as an emergency fund and no plans for future use.
