Ask Terry Questions I Bonds again

I Bonds again

By Terry Savage on January 30, 2024 | Chicken Money

Went into my account that I opened Oct 28, 2022 just before the cutoff date for the 9.6% interest. I see the purchase amount, but no evidence of any interest applied from that date forward. Where can I find my interest? Once found, am I able to take it out, of course leaving the bonds intact or do I not touch any thing?

Terry Says

By now you should see the interest in your account. If you click on “current holdings” and then click on “savings bonds” you’ll see the current value of that bond. For example, if you put $10,000 into the investment, it now reads “current value — $10,800.

But you cant take the interest out. And you can’t sell the bonds without losing 3 months interest until you have held them for 5 years.
