I Bonds for Trusts
I bought an I Bond for $10,000 under my Social Security number and now want to buy an I Bond under my revocable living trust that uses my Social security number but cannot see where that is possible on the TreasuryDirect.gov website. Where can I get more information on buying in my trust? Thanks for your column and your assistance.

Just open a new account in the name of your RLT, using your SS number. But you must link it to a bank account in the name of the trust.
And eventually you will be required to submit the relevant enabling pages from the trust document — as with any financial account in the name of the trust.
They’ll either ask now,or when you eventually sell or redeem the bonds.
