I sold my Chicago Bears PSL after owning them for 17 years.
I sold my Chicago Bears PSL after owning them for 17 years. I paid $7,200.00 for them and sold them for $24,000 I was told they would send a1099 From the Bears STR Market Place for tax purposes. When I didn’t receive one I started calling The Market Place, the Bears, and even Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster said call the Market Place, the Market Place said as of December 27th 2022 they were told by the IRS not to send out 1099’s. The Market Place said I should contact the Bears about a 1099. I went back and forth between the Bears and the Market place telling me to contact each other. I tried finding information from the IRS, I found nothing. I was a PSL Season Ticket Holder 17 years and thought I would sell before they worthless, If the Bears do move. I expected they be a Long term Capital gain, instead when I had the United Way prepare my taxes, they they filled out a Schedule SE Self-Employment Tax form. which I don’t understand at all.
Thought others may be selling there PSLs also.

Oh no — you gave up on the Bears! I’m hoping that MY PSLs will be worth more in a new stadium. I don’t think they can just make them worthless for all of us who have held them all those years.
Yes, you should receive a 1099. And it should come from the Bears. I will make a call and if I can get any info I will update this response.
