Ibond

By Terry Savage on October 28, 2022 | Chicken Money

I’ve been trying to buy a Ibond for my grandson but in navigating the treasurydirect.gov website it seems like I can’t do that unless I’m a legal guardian or provide chief financial support which I don’t. I’m just the grandfather. Thanks Terry. P.S. I’ve purchased $9500 in Ibonds this year mostly because of your advice. Love you

Terry Says

You can buy the bond for your grandson in your account (assuming it is your personal account and not your revocable living trust) by putting it in your “gift box.” YOu’ll need your grandson’s SS number.
