IBonds — change bank routing number
I just found out how difficult it is to change the RT number of my bank in my Treasury Direct account. My bank was bought out this year by another bank. The paperwork requesting the change had to be notarized and faxed to the government. On the phone they could not estimate the amount of time the process could take. Do you have any knowledge of the time it could take get it changed?

If you already notarized form 5512 and sent it in, it should take less than a week. If you wait on the phone and get them, it can be done in minutes. They know this is happening (I talked to Treasury today) and they are processing things much more quickly as they have recently added more people.)
