IDES 1099

By Terry Savage on February 21, 2021 | Wild Card

Unfortunately, both my wife and I were unemployed this year but as we are preparing for tax season, we have noticed the amount reported on our IDES 1099 does not coincide with benefits received. For me the diffrence was 2500 and for my wife 1700. Any suggestions how to treat this disparity. I also thought that the additional monies offered first the 600 then the 300, in addition to normal unemployment payments were non taxable, yet taxes were with held on full amount of payment.

All IDES benefits are taxable income. But did you have taxes withheld at the source for your unemployment benefit checks? If so, that could be the difference. They should give you a separate indication of taxes withheld.
