IDES Certification Issues
Hello Terry,
I have been furloughed since the middle of June and have filed for and have been receiving unemployment benefits from IDES since that time. I was attempting to certify for my benefits on September 7th, however, I received several errors while making those attempts. I have called IDES to check the status of my certification and am on the waiting list for a call back. I tried to certify again on September 9th with no luck. Do you have any suggestions on what I should do next, or do I just need to be patient and wait for the call back from IDES?

The IDES system is totally messed up. I have said this before publicly — so I’ll write it here. Go buy a couple of “burner” phones — cheap phones with just basic cell service (like the criminals use!). Put those numbers on the list as well as your own cell phone. That could add to your chances of a call back! Carry the phones around with you EVERYWHERE — just in case! Wish I could offer more.
