IDES extra money
I am an non educational school employee and have been claiming unemployment per P.A. 101-633. My last day worked was 6/1/20 and I filed on 6/14/20. I have been informed by a AFSCME publication that I am entitled to back pay from 6/1 thru 6/14. I have submitted a message and am awaiting a call back, thru the new callback program.
Also, the extra Federal unemployment funds are ending on July 25. My next certify day is July 28th for 2 weeks, 1 of those weeks ending July 25. Do you have any thoughts as to whether I will still get that extra $600? Or is the “ending” mean that no more funds will be paid after July 25?

You won’t get the funds for that week — UNLESS Congress votes a new round of unemployment benefits AND backdates them for the last week in July. They will be haggling about that in Washington for the next week or two — before Congress goes home on vacation! So something will be done — but best bet is it won’t be $600/week.
As for the back pay, yes you are owed it– BUT it will probably take a while to get through IDES, although political pressure is being put on them now to react more qui9ckly.
