IDES scam card and credit freeze

By Terry Savage on July 28, 2020 | Wild Card

Thank you so much for offering time to look and answer these questions. I am starting to feel sick to my stomach if my identity has been stolen.
What does it mean to freeze your credit?
How do you freeze your credit?
What happens when you do freeze your credit?
How and when do you unfreeze it?
How do I begin to retrieve any identity theft and protect my accounts?
What do I have to do if there has been an identity theft?
I appreciate your time and help.

Here — click on this link and I think it explains everything. A freeze is free, and it means no one can access your credit report — as an inquiry or to open new credit or a new bank account. But you also have to READ your credit report — to make sure no one inquired, and perhaps opened an account in your name already!
They give you a PIN – – and if you need to lift the freeze (perhaps buying a car or refinancing) you can do that temporarily.
