IDES/Unemployment 1099s

By Terry Savage on February 03, 2021 | Wild Card

How much time do I allow IDES to send me the 1099-G. It’s February 3, and it still has not arrived? Why is the CARES (FPUC) portion of unemployment income taxable, but the stimulus check is not? After all, the pandemic portion of funding to unemployment was for the same reason as the relief checks. Getting in touch with IDES is a nightmare; what is the best way to contact them should my 1099-G not arrive?

Terry Says

You should get your 1099 soon. Patience.
And don’t complain about the stimulus being tax-free! It’s a gift from your grandchildren who will pay the bill ultimately!
