IDES…what else is new??
My son was furloughed 3/19/2020, and hasn’t worked since. He was approved for, and received UI, but since then has not been able to certify, no matter how many times and when he tries. I get the issue, and don’t envy ANYONE stuck in the loop, but if you could please answer this for him…
Since he can’t get through to certify, will he still be able to collect UI for the weeks he could not get through?
If so, how, and when can he do this? The $600 benefit, plus his UI is starting to be ‘REAL” money, and it seems unfortunate to miss out on this through no fault of his own.
He (luckily) still lives at home, so I’m only as happy as my most unhappy child…

This is really tough because the Ill Dept of Employment Security is a total mess! The one saving grace is that he will be entitled to back payments including the Federal stimulus, from the date he lost his job!
I wish I knew when they would get their act together. It has lurched from one mess to another — and no one stands up and tries to fix it and take accountability for it.
