Illinois Schedule C filers and unemployment

By Terry Savage on May 06, 2020 | Wild Card

Sch C business owner with 5 employees. Worked hard for them to get the PPP but by the time I was accepted(5/3), all my employees are entrenched in Unemployment income with the $600wk bonus. They all only work 22 hours a week and are enjoying the windfall. I do not see our industry(dentistry) returning full bore for several months. I have individually applied for IL unemployment and rejected as expected. Is there a plan to add sch C filers to unemployment in Illinois, and where/when can one apply?
Just finished “Terry Savage Number”..
Awesome!

If by Schedule C, you mean that you have paid yourself by 1099 form, then you should be able to register in the new self-employed portion of the IDES website expected to be open the week of May 11th. Let me know what happens then. (And thanks for the compliment.)
