illinois unemployment
I have been getting unemployment since the quarantine started in march, 26 weeks, now monday of this week state of illinois doesn’t let me certify (???) of course unable to get anyone to pick up phone at IDES, and no one returning messages, I thought the CARES act carried me out for another 13 weeks

You are supposed to automatically get 39 weeks of unemployment — plus for a while that $600/week and for a few weeks an extra $300. Once accepted that was allsupposed to come automatically.
But IDES is so messed up that when you get caught like this, there is very little you can do except leave your number for a callback — which might not come for months. My best suggestion is get a couple of “burner” cell phones and register for a callback on each of them! Really, that might increase your chances of a response — but have the phones with you at all times!
And sadly that is the best financial advice I can give, because despite requests to the goavernor, I have been blocked from the contact numbers I used to have to help people.
