I’m on Social Security and do I need to file taxes?

By Terry Savage on January 27, 2022 | Taxes & Economy

I’m on Social security and made 20,466.00. That is my only income. In December I won $1,900.00 in my church 50-50 raffle. I have an IRA but have not withdrawn from it. Do I have to file a tax return this year. I’m 67years old and live in Illinois

Terry Says

If you’re single and over 65, you must file taxes if you had more than $14,250 in income in 2021.
But you can get free tax help at a lot of places. Go to www.irs.gov/freefile for a list.

It should be easy!!
