Inflation — how will it end?
When will inflation lessen and savings maintain its value? In the middle 70s a Mexican 50 peso was $150 and now same item over $3,200 -that’s inflation. Look at cars, homes are just crazy (I realize that’s because loans are available to all -no plan to pay off; if you’re 80 they’ll still give you a 30 year loan CRAZY if they expect pay back. Our whole system has been corrupted to live high, good is bad and bad is good. So, what will cause the end to the crazy?
Terry Says
I have no idea — and that’s what makes life interesting! The dollar is not the same as the peso — because the dollar is the standard of trade for the entire world. If the “world” suddenly realizes we have more debt than resources to pay it, and if the “world” fears that will will just print the money, then there will be a total collapse of the dollar.
We’re not there yet. And about that 30-year mortgage: remember, they have your house as collateral!
(Similarly, the world believes they have the United States wealth as collateral for our debt!)
