Ask Terry Questions Internation investing

Internation investing

By Terry Savage on November 09, 2014 | Investments

I have diversified my portfolio to mutual funds via Edward Jones. One avenue that hasn’t performed too well are my international investments, such as Harbor Investment, AFS International and Oppenheimer International. What are your opinions on these?

Terry Says:  Well, it has been a tough year for markets outside the U.S.  Most are concentrated in Europe, which has been at the edge of recession for a long time.  Now the Japanese market is moving up because they are printing money as a central bank policy.  And it looks like Europe will do the same, which could boost their stocks.  I’m not convinced enough to go out and buy international funds (and I haven’t looked specifically at yours), but I don’t think this is the time to throw in the towel!
