Ask Terry Questions Investments

Investments

By Terry Savage on April 07, 2025 |

I am in my late 70s and retired. My stocks have done very well until this past couple of weeks. Before investments started to fall my agent called and suggested I put half my money into Mutual Funds. He said to think about it and he’d call me back. He never did. My stocks are also in the aggressive category. I know nothing about any of this. Do I leave them and hope things turn around like it did in covid? Do I change aggressive to moderate. What is your suggestion?

Maybe your broker was just hungry for commissions — and failed to follow through. Mutual funds that own stocks are no safer than the stocks they buy!

But I hesitate to give advice, not knowing whether these investments are inside a retirement plan. Or the rest of your financial picture.
Instead, let me suggest you find a NEW ADVISOR — one you can trust!
