Wondering if you know anything about Alliant Credit Union. Would you recommend joining and investing, This is an 0n-line institution only as far as I know. Thank you.

A credit union is not the optimum place to invest — unless you’re just looking for CDs. Then make sure it is insured by CUNA — similar to FDIC.
If you’re young and want to open an IRA, I’d recommend a place line Fidelity or Vanguard.
