Investments in the Stock Market
Hi Terry, I always look forward to your segments on the WGN Morning show. You talk a lot about the stock market volatility and not to panic. I haven’t dabbled in the stock market in a bit (I have some stocks from years ago) but was wondering if now is the time to buy as I assume there are some good bargains. I am 62, still working and contribute the maximum amount to my 401k including catch up contributions. I have $100k or so to play with (will leave another $100k or so for emergencies). Thoughts on this investment approach and if so, which segments? Thanks.

Let me ask you one question: How much money are you willing to lose???
That should make you stop and think.
No one should “play” in the market. This is serious stuff. It’s money you worked hard to earn.
I’m glad you’re continuing to invest inside your 40l(k) plan. Keep doing that, to the max, and to get your full employer match if there is one.
We will only know if today’s prices are bargains in hindsight. You’re on your own!!
