I have a mutual fund account that is not a IRA, can I sell it then transfer it to IRA mutual fund, I didn’t work in 2022, I saw an answer on the internet that if you didn’t work you couldn’t put money into the IRA for that year, is that true.

Terry Says

You may not put money in an IRA in any year in which you do not have earned income!
