I don’t know when you received this letter. but if you haven’t already started taking RMDs (which used to be required at age 70-1/2 until the Cares Act passed last spring) and you are just now turning 70-1/2, then you can delay until the year you reach age 72. If your plan custodian sent the letter, was it sent a year ago? Confirm with them that they have your age correctly registered. I
