My daughter worked for ascension hospitals who sold her hospital. She is thinking about rolling her 401k into an IRA.
How should she go about this process? She is speaking with a rep at TransAmerica where her 401K is managed.

She should do this on her own — or she will be talked into high cost investments.

Once she gets into a Fidelity or Vanguard IRA, she should just tell them to put it in the S&P 500 Stock Index fund. And leave it there. If she is still working she can add contributions every year.
