My husband passed away in Feb 2024. I filed my 2023 taxes and the IRS has not approved them. Is this because my husband passed away.

I don’t know what you mean by “approved” them. The IRS does not approve — just accepts the return. If they have any issues with it, they will contact you by mail.
Are you expecting a refund? Is that why you asked? If so go to www.IRS.gov to see the latest on that. Ive added a direct link to that page.
