IRS Letter CP80
Told I have a credit of $3500. Can I use this over a 3yr period? How did I qualify to get this letter?

Here’s a link to the IRS website describing the CP80 notice. It basically says they credited an amount to your account — but have not processed the return.
I’d suggest you go to www.IRS.gov and create an “account” which is easy to do. Here is a link to the place to create an account.
Once you see your account, you will know where this credit came from. And an accountant can tell you if you can apply it to this year’s return if you owe money.
