Ask Terry Questions IRS refund for deceased parent

IRS refund for deceased parent

By Terry Savage on February 04, 2024 | Social Security

My mother passed away in February of 2022. I filed her 2022 taxes, which consisted of primarily social security and a small pension, in April of 2023. I have not received the refund from the IRS yet. I have called the IRS and when I get through, which is very difficult, for the last 3 months I have been told each time that it is being process and to call back in another 30 days. I am trying to close the estate and cannot do so until this is done. Do you have any suggestions how can I move forward with obtaining her refund.
