Ask Terry Questions IRS TAX REFUND

IRS TAX REFUND

By Terry Savage on May 13, 2020 | Wild Card

Good Afternoon Terry,

I hope these challenging times find you well and healthy.

I must share that I truly enjoy your newsletters and appearances on WGN. You are truly a classy and knowledgeable woman. I love how you are able to put information in perspective with simple, layman terms. I admire and respect you a great deal. I trust you which is a rare commodity these days. You are calm and level headed.

This is my first time reaching out for information.

On March 12th, I electronically submitted my tax forms which I have done for years. I usually receive my refund within a week to ten days. To date, I haven’t received it. I keep checking the website which only states it’s “in process”. Tried calling to no avail. Should I be concerned? Logically, I feel it’s due to the WFH status. The IRS has extended filing and hopefully are just short handed and behind.

Good News: Received my IL State Refund and my Economic Impact Payment.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I apologize if this was already covered.

Stay safe!

With sincere appreciation for your time,

Barbara Stoffel

Did you put in direct deposit info for your refund? If not, TODAY is the last day to do so. Enter your banking info here:

TIP: When they ask for your address put it in in ALL CAPS and no punctuation.

This has happened to a LOT of people, and your return likely hit as the IRS was literally disbanding and regrouping to send out stimulus checks. So if you don’t get registered it may take another few weeks for you to receive your refund and your stimulus payment by mail.
