Late 1040 Filing Refund
I’m a perpetual late filer for reasons I won’t go into. However, I filed my 2016 taxes that were due on July 15th of 2020. They arrived at the IRS on July 18th of 2020( 3 days late). Based on what I’m reading I have forfeited my refund. Is there anything I can do to appeal.

I hope that was a typo — and you really meant you filed your 2019 return three days late. You didn’t forfeit your refund. They just haven’t gotten around to reviewing all those returns yet, as the IRS has been swamped. Be patient. And get going on your 2020 return RIGHT NOW!
