Living on student loans & stimulus check
My daughter is currently enrolled in medical school and lives off her student loans. She does not file taxes. Will she receive the stimulus check, or should she file taxes with zero income to be sure the government doesn’t “forget ” her?

Do you and your spouse declare her as a dependent on your tax return? If so, she won’t get a check — but she will be “worth” $500 to you! If not, yes I would suggest filing a 2019 return with zero interest –to make sure they have her correct address.
Have her contact TurboTax today to do this –as they may even find a credit for which she is eligible. And simple returns are not only FREE at TT this week, but she can talk online live with a CPA. So don’t delay!
