Money market accounts
I live in Illinois if that’s relevant and have $5,000 I want to open a money market account with can you suggest the highest or best rate in Chicagoland

Here’s a link to the best Money Market rates in the 60610 zipcode,for a $5,000 deposit, provided by Bankrate.com.
You’ll notice that most are online offers, such as American Express Bank or Capitol One. Their rates are around 3.8%. Some are as high are 4%+. No local banks show up in the “best rates for Chicago area” list! So you’d have to ask around, starting at the bank where you have your checking account.
