Money markets

By Terry Savage on January 04, 2024 | Chicken Money

About two months ago, I sold all bonds and stocks and invested in a Vanguard MMF. I missed the market surge of the last two months but have been getting $2700 in interest per month on my 600K. I had been in the market for the last twenty years before cashing out. I am 74, a widower and with my SS I am getting about 60K per year. My condo is paid and I have very little in debts. At some time, should I get back in the market?

Only with money you’re willing to lose! Of course, rates may come down and cut into your income. That’s always a possibility. And you’ll just be keeping up with inflation in your MM fund. You won’t get ahead. But you won’t lose!!
