My IDES Benefit payment was made to another bank account – HELP!

By Terry Savage on June 28, 2021 | Wild Card

I was laid off and am receiving IDES benefit payments for several months via direct deposit to my bank account.
I tried to certify for my benefits on Monday and wasn’t able to access my account. I figured I typed the wrong passcode and tried several times but still couldn’t get in. Finally, I reset my password and received a message that I had already certified! Then, I received an email alert that my direct deposit account information was changed. I quickly logged into the IDES site and indeed it was an account with Bonneville Bank… I didn’t make the change so I called IDES and left a message, waiting for a callback.
I also froze my credit with the 3 major credit agencies.
Is there anything else I should do?
How do I get in touch with IDES faster? (Unfortunately, the website doesn’t provide the option to file a claim for when direct deposit information is changed fraudulently.)
Thanks, Terry!

OMG– this will be a mess! Definitely file a fraud complaint on the IDES website. Don’t just call and leave a message. I’m afraid this will take a long time to fix! And IDES has yet to explain how someone could get in to change your depository bank. I will forward your post to my contact at IDES, though they never respond!
Could you send me an email to Terry@TerrySavage.com giving me your claimant number and phone number so maybe they will respond to you. My email is private and I am the only one who reads it.
