I’d like to use that website to purchase some stocks in particular companies. I will do this with a small amount of money, not my primary amount in diversified Vanguard funds.

I recommended Stockpile.com. There are some restrictions. You cant set price limits and have to wait to get the order executed. It’s perfect for getting children started as you can easily gift shares of stock. But for you, your Vanguard brokerage account might be less expensive and easier.
